Te Oranga means Great Health

Health Hawke’s Bay – Te Oranga

Hawke’s Bay is situated on the beautiful east coast of New Zealand’s North Island. It has a lovely temperate climate and covers the area from Mahia in the north through to Porangahau in the south and inland into the Kaweka and Ruahine Ranges.

Hawke’s Bay is renowned for its agriculture, fishing and horticulture with fertile flatlands producing an abundance of fruit and vegetables.   Add this to Hawke’s Bays wide range of outdoor activities and attractions, plus stunning landscapes with a unique wildlife, distinct architecture, a vibrant arts community and a rich cultural heritage  - you’re probably now beginning to understand why we feel so passionate about our region and our people.

Health Hawke’s Bay is the region’s single Primary Health Organisation covering a
population of over 150,000 and we aim to improve health outcomes and life expectancy across our beautiful bay as well as reducing inequalities for our Maori, Pacific and high needs families.

We have a publicly funded budget approaching $40 million, a Board and CEO who are passionate about health and Hawke’s Bay and, who are supported by a dedicated team of professionals in a wide range of roles.

Health Hawke’s Bay believe making it easier for people to access health care is fundamental to improving the health of our community.   Health is a community and
personal responsibility and Health Hawke’s Bay is committed to helping you to take care of yourself, your families and whanau.

Thanks for visiting our website – whether you are seeking health advice, are a health professional already in the bay or, you’re considering working as part of our progressive and passionate health community in this great location, we hope you find the information you need.
